There are 65 activity pages intended to be used one or two per week in conjunction with your own curriculum planning system. The ELG matrix (in the Teachers section) shows you how they are covered by the activities. The activities also contain a schedule with references of the Early Learning Goals, but remember to use the Guidance to the Foundation Stage (QCA/DfEE) for the Stepping Stones and supporting information.

Adult Role: To enable young children to develop to their full potential adults need to provide a safe, stimulating and supportive environment. Whether an activity is adult led or child initiated, adults should use appropriate language in conversation and ask the right questions to help extend thought in children through language.

Planning carefully for children’s next learning steps, using what you already know about each child and providing exciting and educational activities is the key to a fun and successful pre-school curriculum.

Tiny Planets Lesson Plans are produced by Tender Loving Childcare Ltd.

Tiny Planets Activity Pages
Information for Parents and Teachers

How to use: These activities have been devised in conjunction with the Tiny Planets episodes and stories to bring children’s favourite characters into your pre-school setting. From these activities children’s learning will be enhanced by the connections made with Bing and Bong and the familiarity of the Tiny Planets – Nature, Stuff, Self, Light & Colour, Technology and Sound.

The activity pages have been designed to meet the requirements of the Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance for 3 to 5 year olds, with the aim of reaching the Early Learning Goals by the end of their Reception year at school.

Each activity has one Early Learning Goal (ELG) as the focus of the session but relates to other ELGs reflecting the cross-curricula links and the holistic way in which children play and learn. Follow-on activities are suggested and children of course will develop their own play spontaneously.
