Resources
- Sheet of A2 black sugar paper, separated into 4 sections with drawn lines
- Brown sugar paper cut into the shape of a tree, one for each section
- Various collage materials including green and red tissue paper, brown and orange materials, silver or white glitter
- Glue
- A piece of card cut into an arrow
- A paper fastener
Guidelines
- Working in a small group discuss the changes that happen to a tree during the various seasons.
- Give each child the black A2 paper and 4 trees. Ask them to glue a tree into each section.
- Starting with the first tree (spring) discuss with the children how they could decorate the tree to look like a tree in spring using the collage materials.
- Repeat for the other seasons.
- Place the arrow in the centre of the picture and push the paper fastener through the middle. The arrow should then be able to spin and point to each season.
- These can be used all year round to point to the current season.
